ABOUT IQAC
The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Dr. C.V. Raman University has been established as a quality sustenance measure to prepare & monitor the action plan for performance evaluation, assessment and accreditation and quality up-gradation of the University. Since quality enhancement is a continuous process, the IQAC is a part of the University’s system and works towards the realization of the goals of quality enhancement and sustenance. The prime task of the CVRU-IQAC is to develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic improvement in the overall performance of CVRU & needs to channelize its efforts and measures towards promoting the holistic academic excellence. The work of the IQAC is the first step towards implementation of quality enhancement initiatives. CVRU-IQAC has the potential to act as a vehicle for ushering in quality enhancement by working out planned interventionist strategies to remove deficiencies and enhance quality culture in the University.

Function of IQAC
Development and application of quality benchmark Standards.
Identifying and finalizing parameters to access, monitor, analyze and for various academic and administrative activities of the institution
Facilitating creation of learner-centric environment conducive to quality education and faculty maturation to adopt the required knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning process.
Collection and analysis of feedback from all stakeholders on quality-related institutional processes;
Dissemination of information on various quality parameters to all stakeholders;
Organization of inter and intra institutional workshops, seminars on quality related themes and promotion of quality circles
Documentation of the various programmes/activities leading to quality improvement
Acting as a nodal agency of the Institution for coordinating quality-related activities, including adoption and dissemination of best practices
Development and maintenance of institutional database through MIS for the purpose of maintaining /enhancing the institutional quality
Periodical conduct of Academic and Administrative Audit and its follow-up
Preparation and submission of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) as per guidelines and parameters of NAAC.

Features of IQAC
Build an organized methodology of documentation and internal communication
The CVRU – IQAC ensures that every step done in the University for imbibes the spirit of efficiency and effectiveness and confirming the set benchmark standards. In order to do this, the CVRU – IQAC establishes procedures and modalities to collect information on all aspects of University’s functioning. Since, quality assurance is a by – product of ongoing efforts to define the objectives of the University, thus, the CVRU – IQAC has a work plan to achieve them and to specify the checks to evaluate the degree to which each of the tasks is fulfilled.
Hence, the devotion and commitment of CVRU – IQAC is to the improvement rather than mere organizational control which is the basis for devising procedures and instruments for assuring quality in Dr. C.V. Raman University. Therefore, the right balance between the health and growth of the University needs to be struck. The CVRU – IQAC plays a major role in implementing these functions. For some specific needs, the IQAC derives major support from the already existing units and mechanisms that contribute towards academic excellence of the University.

External Quality Assurance
In order to ensure that high quality standard is maintained in the university, periodic assessment of quality shall be arranged by such external agencies, as NAAC or any other agency suggested by the Government of India from time to time.
Monitoring Mechanism
The IQAC and constituent institutions need to submit every year the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) to BIHER. A functional University Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and timely submission of Annual Quality Assurance Reports (AQARs) are the Minimum Institutional Requirements (MIR) to volunteer for second, third or subsequent cycle’s accreditation. During the institutional visit the NBA/NACC/NIRF peer teams will interact with the IQACs to know the progress, functioning as well quality sustenance initiatives undertaken by them. The Annual Quality Assurance Reports (AQAR) may be the part of the Annual Report of the University.
