Programme Overview

The M.A. program offers a two-year undergraduate curriculum. Focuses on providing a well-rounded education in liberal arts and humanities. Students will be able to acquire complete knowledge of Indian and world history. Hindi literature, with its roots in ancient religious texts, evolved through distinct periods. The mediaeval era featured Bhakti and Sufi poetry, while the Bhakti and Riti periods introduced poets like Surdas and Tulsidas. Modern times saw the rise of realism by writers like Munshi Premchand. In contemporary works, diverse themes were explored by writers like Harivansh Rai Bachchan and Gulzar. Post-independence globalisation influenced experimental literature by authors such as Krishna Sobti.
